  Internet Society Somalia Chapter Relaunches After Years of Inactivity By: Zakarie Ismael Sheikh, Vice Chair – Internet Society Somalia Chapter A New Beginning for an Old Chapter Back in 2011, Somalia took a bold step by establishing the Internet Society Somalia Chapter, led by its founder Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim, former Minister of Post, Telecommunications and Technology. It was one of the first ISOC chapters in Africa, a sign that Somalia even in difficult times, was determined to be part of the global internet community. That vision came even before Somalia was connected to its first submarine cable in 2013 — the link that truly transformed how Somalis access the world online. In this small peace of works, i am excited to share my incredible experience visiting Oxford, United Kingdom , and attending the Global Cybersecurity Capacity Centre (GCSCC) 10th anniversary Conference from 29th of April to 1st of May 2024 held at the renowned  Martin School,  Oxford University. The Journey and Welcome From Mogadishu to London, to Oxford city, the moment I arrived in Oxford, the warm hospitality and the historic ambiance of the city left a lasting impression on me. This city, known for its iconic academic institutions, exudes an aura of knowledge and intellectual curiosity. ( Tallinn  - Estonia 30-31 May 2023)  The North European country, Estonia, has been hailed as the most advanced digital society in the world. This reputation has been earned through its continuous efforts over the past two decades to fully digitize and provide every service digitally.   The Prime Minister of Estonia  Kaja Kallas , who attended this year's e-Government conference  in Tallinn, emphasized that their country has achieved 99% digitalization of public services, enabling individuals to access any service online from anywhere.
